Portfolio
WHAT SITES YOU HAVE USED AND WHY?
I have used Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin to create my social portfolio and Weebly for my portfolio site.
COMPARE TO OTHER SITES YOUR PORTFOLIO - COMPARE TO ONES YOU RESEARCHED AT THE BEGINNING - DOES YOUR LIVE UP TO EXPECTATIONS? HOW?
Some other social networks I could have used were:
The single-page design for my interactive portfolio was inspired by Yul Moreau's website.
ARE THEY FULL OF APPROPRIATE CONTENT - HOW?
Yes, I have included my past work and a contact page.
IS YOUR SITE INTERACTIVE ENOUGH?
I've tried to keep it as intuitive and uncluttered as possible so it is easy for the user to interact with.
SEND OUT A LINK ON SURVEY MONKEY AND GET ANSWERS ON COLOUR, FONTS, NAVIGATION AND CONTENT
ARE THEY APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE AND WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL?
I received only three responses to my survey about the design of my website
Of the questions in which responses were on a scale from "not at all" to "extremely":
Another said they would like it to have "brighter colours" from which I can infer that they may have found the colour choices a bit dull. Although, they did say in another question that they thought the colour and font choices were appropriate for a portfolio that would be viewed by employers, as did the rest of the participants.
IS YOUR SITE EASY TO USE?
I think my simple one-page design makes it very easy to navigate because you don't need to click through links to find anything.
DOES IT SHOW WHAT IT IS MEANT TO?
It shows examples of my work.
IS IT PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH TO SEND TO COMPANIES?
I think it's professional enough to send to companies. I've made sure all the work uploaded is from projects I am proud of and would be happy for an employer to see.
WHAT ELSE COULD YOU HAVE INCLUDED?
A better description of what I do.
HAVE YOU CREATED ENOUGH SOCIAL MEDIA SITES IN ORDER TO SELL YOURSELF? WHY DO YOU THINK THIS?
I think I have created enough social media profiles to promote my work. Twitter and Facebook are two very popular websites so they will reach a broad audience. Linkedin allows me to connect and network with colleagues and employers, it is focused more on professional connections than the other two and should be helpful for establishing contacts to further my career in the industry.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO ADD IN FUTURE?
I plan to use these sites to upload my future work and to network with other people in the industry.
